Currently using the Aquaforest component system, I dose about 70ml of each component every day in a SPS dominant tank. Want to get some of the benefits of using kalk (cheap, raises ph). Previously I used kalk in ATO when I first started years ago and also did the gravity drip method some time after that. I stopped using kalk at all for several years but planning to re-introduce it. Now I want to be a bit more precise... I have a 5 channel doser.
Current plan: Mix 2.5L of RODI in dosing container with .5 tsp of kalk. I believe this is a nearly saturated solution? Start dosing 20ml of kalk and decrease alk/ca dosing of 3 part by half. Maintain Mg dosing at current levels of 70ml. Monitor dkh at night and during the day to keep it stable and adjust up or down slowly.
Do not use a stirrer in kalk dosing container.
Sounds like a good plan?
