This is one of my favorite colonies. Pics just don’t do it justice, nor do they capture all the true colors of it... If you get the purple skin white balanced correctly, then the polyps and growth tips aren’t colored right. If you move the white balance toward the yellow spectrum then you lose the fluorescence of the polyps....smh lol

Thanks for checking in Charlie, appreciate it. After going back thru our conversation here, I am thinking it was the higher par and high salinity that had those pieces teetering in the edge and then the Chemiclean pushed them over. I will likely lose the BKChem Cpt Crozier and the BKChem Flaming Sunrise based on how they are looking. I’ve got my fingers crossed on the recovery of all the other Speciosa. Jumanji doesn’t appear to have skipped a beat thankfully. The Insanity & Prom Queen appear to be getting some color/highlights back as well as some PE.

In general, I’ve always had good color, good health and decent growth rates on my 2 tank system but since I fixed the SG, all my large growout colonies have really taken off with not only growth and PE but the color is really popping! Once the lights come in I’ll try to snap some FTS’s.
Hmmm
I use chemiclean almost monthly bc I dose it with interceptor (Speciosas and I hate pods) to make my skimmer go nuts and keep the interceptor in the system, but like they say….every system is different. Hopefully you figured it out and those will recover.

I’m terrified to try CC again. Even though I’m almost positive the high SG coupled with high par is what did it. But I just don’t know. We’ll see in mid April when I get back from a mini vacation. I’ll probably treat with CC again...

I got some great frags from @SweetReefOH last month. Great frags at a very fair price. Super healthy and pest free. Buy with confidence. I’m just lucky that he lives within a stone’s throw from where I work.
You’re welcome back anytime Josh. I’m glad the frags are doing good for you!

Here’s one.... I have a real fondness for white corals, and not the white dry ones. I’ve made plenty of those lol. I love the white stalk against colored coralites and polyps. So, here’s a nice macro of one of my favorite “whiteish” corals. Is this the BC Battlejuice or RR The Vinh?? :face-with-monocle:

You need to talk to that one nicer so it grows faster. Ill be two years getting a frag back of that one. Looks like it is growing Slow. Been wondering how it was doing.
Jeff
It took me a while to find his happy spot. I think he’s going to do good going forward.
