Swollen green star polyps

Wanted to see if anyone had any information on what might be going on with my greenstar polyps. All other corals seem fine even my sps corals. Would love to get them healthy again like all the other greenstars I've seen

What seems to be the problem? That frag looks happy. If they're doing poor you can usually see some of the purple mat.

Ok it just doesn't look like most of the nice flowing gsp I've seen before

When I first saw yours I wasn't sure it was GSP. I'm far from an expert and still not positive it isn't some other type of polyp. When it's closed up is it a purple mat? All the GSP I've seen has a purple rubbery mat. This is the color of the mat on mine with polyps closed.

Here's a crop of a piece of mine. After zooming in I wonder if yours is something other than GSP? Let's wait and see what someone with more knowledge than I think.

I'd check with where you got the coral from. Does their base colony look like this?
I'd almost say these look more like a "clove" polyp. (And to those others on here, I'm sure GSP is somehow a clove polyp :P)

Yes it's definitely gsp and it's purple when closed and looked just like yours when I got it that's why I'm curious what's going on because my other corals are doing fine. And this is supposed to be the easy one.

They will be shorter in higher flow areas. That could be it.

Doesn't look like they are doing bad to me.

Yah that's what everyone keeps telling me. I just wish the looked like all the other gsp I've seen. They look so nice long and flowing

Give it some time too. If they came this way from your source they may grow out differently in your tank.

Mine loves high flow. I have piece on the back wall of my acro tank that gets blown around a lot. I actually use it as a tell to let me know if a power head is not working as it should since it's the only coral in the tank that moves.

Great I'm gunna try to move it to a higher flow area. They can handle higher par too? I was worried which is why I put it on the sand bed

Mine can handle high flow and high par. Mine also survive in the dark lol. The purple piece I posted above was up side down in the dark for at least 6 months. I think that is why it started to develop the root like structure vs just a flat mat. If you look close you can see sponges. That pic was shortly after I found it when I moved some rock.
This is it today. Making a comeback.They are a pretty resilient coral.

Funny thing is for the first few years in the hobby I couldn't keep GSP alive and have no idea why.

Yah I'm having the same issue. My other tank my gsp died and my pulsing xenia. Supposedly the easiest and most invasive. I killed it some. But my hammer and sps are doing amazing. Just seem odd. Luckily the pulsing xenia in this tank is growing really well but still having issues with the gsp. This gsp definitely seems to be doing better but I bought it for that beautiful flowing look. But it's just swelled up it seems. It's wide open though which is confusing. My other tank it just never really opened

I couldn't and still can keep xenia. Most of the easy coral wasn't easy for me. It sure was frustrating to read people recommending easy coral to new comers and I was killing them all while meaty LPS and my bubble coral thrived.

Yah I really want the big large head pulsing xenia mine seems very small hopefully it grows larger. I'm pretty sure I killed my first pulsing xenia due to dosing hydrogen peroxide trying to deal with hair alge. I found pulsing xenia is really sensitive to hydrogen peroxide. And also I'm assuming aslo polyp lab medication as it's just basically powdered hydrogen peroxide from what I've seen and read about it. Since I stopped that it seems to be doing alright
