That's cool. It's kind of like an easy fit retrofit. I think I saw something similar to this a few years ago made specifically for reefs.

Is there any info on color temperature and spectrum?

It looks like the T8 replacements are between 4000 and 4500 K. Might be OK for a FOWLR.....but not a reef tank.
 
Will call my lighting guy an ask about kelvin options. Lighting bulbs are made for more than reef tanks. In fact reef lighting would not be available if there where not other uses of high kelvin bulbs. Believe it or not there are enough bulbs sold thru the pet trade to support a lighting production line. :)
