T5/MH agitate the animals?

So, thought this was an interesting comment made by a marine biologist during a recent city aquarium visit.

Noticed that they had a Quantum T5 still hanging that was no longer in service, but only a smaller led light running.

I asked about why they switched, thinking heat or cost.

Answer I got was that the old lights agitated the fish and animals, and the LEDs don't so they switched across the board.

First time hearing that. Anyone have any evidence to support either way?

I would say its just one persons opinion, and I've not heard this opinion before.

I have a tank with MH lights (been using MH for decades) and 3 tanks with led lights, I would not agree with that statement.

That was kind of my argument. I had started with MH and T5s. If that was the case, i feel like there would have been a lot of p!ssed off sea life for the last 40-50 years.

Not enough information...

One remote possibility is that there is a (sort of random) difference in the RF levels between their lights.

Ballasts vs switching power supplies.. Same sort of tech. Both generate some RFI.
