Taam Rio 600 RVT pump

anyone tried using rio 600 rvt pump? im thinking of making a skimmer and this pump fits my bill. im just wondering if anyone have any experience with this pump. my second option will be an external pump as no other pump with the flow i want could fit in this 2.75x3" area

i used this pump on my excalibur skimmer way back int he day
i had one problem with it, the covering for the power cord hardened and cracked and leaked stray voltage into my tank
only reason i even found out was because i had an angel that got lateral line
