Thought I would post some details and pictures here for those who are waiting for TBS rock or just waiting to get out of the house. I received the first half of the "package" from @liverock last Sunday. The tank is a RS Reefer 625. The package I ordered includes 130lbs of sand, 200lbs of rock and assorted inverts. The sand and half the rock ship first. Once that cycles (and the Cornona virus passes) the second half ships. Tank was fully cycled in about 5 days. Rock and sand were teeming with life. Snails, hermit crabs, crabs, feather dusters, sponges, etc. Found a 4" crown conch in the sand. Totally worth the wait. Stay safe out there everyone.

That's about as 'live' as live rock gets. I live in the Tampa Bay area and will definitely be giving Richard a shout if I ever get around to my build.

Have you given much thought into keeping all those filter feeders alive long term? I was looking into Sponge Power. Brightwell seems to have a good variety of foods also.

The thought had crossed my mind. I am not familiar with sponge power. @liverock s website mentions dosing phyto every other day to keep them going. I may pick some up today. Thanks for reminding me :)

You bet... thanks for sharing.

I understand why folks are gravitating towards dry rock, but I love the biodiversity of the live stuff. I'll take the good and bad hitchhikers alike.

So I'm in a similar situation. I have half my rock and my sand. Looks like it's going to be awhile before I get the rest. Any suggestions on how to keep the rock "alive" along with the snails and such that came with it? Any kind of feeding at all? I have no lights on the tank yet. Just trying to get some suggestions so I don't lose my investment. Thanks.
