I'm going to order tangs to put in QT for my new tank. These will be the first fist in the tank. The tank has been cycling for several months. I will be QTing for 45 days.

I would like a couple purple tangs, a powder blue tang, a couple yellow tangs should the price ever become reasonable again.

Options are a kole tang, a sailfin, powder brown.

Eventually I will add a Gem Tang.

Here is the question: What order should I add these tangs? Will any of these be aggressive towards other fish that are not tangs and therefor should be added last. Should I just add the two purple tangs first and then add the rest after I add other fish on my list?

Please post your thoughts.

Thank you!

Purple- last as it’s most aggressive. Also get one as tangs are best in odd numbers (1-3-5, and so forth)
Powder blue next to last and kole, yellow and sailfin first. Same with gem

Cool thank you for the thoughts!

So I understand you think the Gem Tang as one of the first?

Purples and powder blue are going to be the most aggressive. Yellows are variable. My purple tried its best to kill a gem .... almost succeeded too .... almost :)

Hope your talking about a 6 ft tank at min, then, the more you can put them in at the same time, the easier it will be as there is no established territory to defend.

The powder blues can be agressive, blues and yellows not as much. 169E815F-6314-4A66-841F-7A52F261CAC2.jpeg
