Hey guys,
I wanted to add a Tomini Tang to my 55 gallon aquarium (which I plan to upgrade to a 125g in less then a year). I chose this species mainly because of its size (max size 5-6") and I love it's coloration. I always try to help out a LFS, especially the ones that listen to feedback. So I had this LFS order me a Tomini Tang...

And so this fish showed up. The guy at the fish store said once he starts eating he'll color up. I've seen a few colorations of this species, and I was hoping for the dark blue/purple body with bright orange fins. I'm not sure how coloration is for juvi and adult I tried to look it up but had lots of trouble finding information. This guys about 4-5", its been one week and this fish has been eating brine, pellets, mysis, and nori (lucky me). I absolutely adore this fish it gets along with everyone, and honestly I actually love it's coloration.
I'm afraid that I have an Orange Stripe Bristletooth Tang (Ctenochaetus cf. striatus) which has a max size of 10" (too big for even my 125g upgrade). I hope these pictures are quality enough.

I think your assessment is spot on....the caudal, anal, and dorsal fin shapes aren't right for a Tomini.
