Due to life getting busy, I got started reversing “old tank” syndrome in 25 year mature 75G display with 30G cryptic & mud refugium. The top had overgrown with GSP & too many Aptasia. So, I removed 50 pounds of live rock. At this same time, a fish room was set up in spare bedroom with six smaller tanks < 20G and one 150G Rubbermaid tub which got filled up as I also emptied 120G tank removing all tangs and drawf angels. The 120G is slated to be an ornamental seaweed tank with a heavy emphases on filter feeding sponges & diversity of suspension feeders to mimic a Caribbean lagoon. However, due to too many irons in the fire, I have put it’s development on hold.

The tangled up in the title refers to the newly added Orange tree sponge that is wedged up with Red tree sponge & Purple Gorgonion. The GSP on the left is what remains after scraping off 4.5 square feet of GSP on back glass. I was amazed at the amount of pods living amongst the polyps. They are now a part of 150G ecosystem In fish room.

Earlier this week, I added 300 tiny blue egged hermit crabs to help deal with Dinoflagellate. I am dosing ammonia to get nitrogen back up.

Anyway, just thought I would share.

Thank you. I planned to allow Pulsing Xenia to cover back glass wall, replacing rock wall. Nothing else is itched in stone. I get motivated when I go to LFS. It’s convenient for me because I sell designer live rock & ornamental macro algae to them.

This is the 150G Rubbermaid tub that I filled with the rock from 75G & 120G

Moving along with Caribbean lagoon with emphases on ornamental seaweeds and diverse filter feeders.

PS: Added two 55G growout tanks to work in progress.
