I had an algae spike, added a phosban with Rowaphos to help cut down the phosphates. I have a good bit of red and green algae that hasnt died off yet. Do tangs eat green, red, or both?

They can. Tangs tend to pick at the rocks all day. But they all have their own personalities, some will and some won't.

Any tangs seem to be better than others for picking at the algae? Or just up to the individual tang?

See, no specified Tang, its all up to them once you get them in the tank. I've got a Sailfin, Mimic, Kole, Vlamingii, and a Hippo and they all pick at the rocks here and there, and I even feed them once a day.
