Thinking about picking up some window glass for a tank project. Glass is only 1/8 inch thick. Can I take two pieces of the same size and silicone a bead around them to increase their thickness and will that work?

No.
Just go to a glass shop and get the right size cut in the correct thickness.
!/8' breaks very easily, I think 2 pieces back to back won't be much different.

Got it. My local glass shop is bananas for pricing. I am not sure if its my area or what but glass is expensive. Thanks for your input!

I know what you mean about bannas and pricing. If i buy a 20 gallon ling already made here in Canada, it will cost 40$. Now if i buy the same glass. 150$!

Rediculous

If the tank is going to be less than 6" tall, you could do this. But i wouldn't.
