Tank idea

Anybody ever do this tank idea: Bare bottom with live rock but put Green star polyps on the bottom and make it look like grass?

That thought just occurred to me and I think i might have to do that in the future now. If anybody’s done this send pics i bet it looks insane.

I like the idea... The only issue might be stopping the GSP from growing up on to the live rock.

It's almost as if you'd need to grow out all of the GSP first, get the entire bottom covered, before placing the live rock in.

It can definitely be done. But if it does one day fill in completely to cover the bottom, you might be constantly having to use a turkey baster (etc.) to blow detritus out of the thick mat. Ultimately, you might have wished that you grew it on the back wall, instead. Just a thought. ;)

From the bottom, my grass runs to the light.
Plant first piece on the bottom in middle, right under the lights. It will expand from there.

Should work. Need a place for rock, separate.
Interesting idea.
