Tank Lids: multiple small lids verse one large lid?

Hello!

4’ tank, one large lid or multiples? Maybe Two 2’ lids, or Four 1’ lids? Would allow me to only uncover the part of the tank that I am working on. Portals too of course.

Mainly curious how much light the extra borders going across the tank will block.

Thoughts?

The center pieces will make no difference to the lighting. I have done both. One problem if you are DIY with 2 lids is you may get some sag in the middle depending on how many tabs you have. Speaking if it is rimless. This does not apply to a rimmed tank with a center brace.
