Hi Everyone,

Just did a tank swap about 2 weeks ago. Moved over around 12-15pds of live rock, biomedia, water and spong from a EVO to a 33g that was running for about 4 Years. I thoroughly washed new live sand and added about 8pds of dry rock. It looks like my sand, new rock and glass is going through the uglies? Went through 1.5x days of slight cloudy water and back to normal.

What should I do? Should I add MB7, Should I just ride it out?

Regards
Terry

To me it looks like diatoms, completely normal in a tank using new sand. The diatoms will die off soon enough once the silicates are consumed. I wouldn't do anything.

I would ride it out and let the established rock you had do its job. Hopefully wont take too long

Anticipate the dry rock and new sand to cycle as you would in a new tank, you’ll likely see less of an ugly stage. Just hang tight for a few months and watch the tank doing its thing
