I was just thinking ...
after testing the tds of my rod I water
007 was the reason might be time to change do resin again as it’s only about 25% colour left .
I was wondering having a Hanna salinity pen that measures conductivity similar to a tds pen
With more tds does it effect the salinity reading making it not accurate ?

higher tds increase the conductivity of the water, so in theory would increas the conductivity of the saltwater made from it. However the conductivity of 7tds is so low compared to saltwater that it would have a very low if any effect on the measured salinity.

Saltwater mixed to 35ppt would have a tds of 35,000 ppm

I would be more concerned of what may be in that 7tds.

If I remember correctly Randy has commented on this and says the two things are different, conductivity is not affected by TDS.

When are you taking the reading? You really need to take the reading straight away, from a spotlessly clean container, as once it’s been stored for even a few minutes you are likely to get a reading.

If your reading is 7 I would definitely change your resin.

Taken straight from the rodi water running and into a clean drinking glass .

same way I take my readings but I find I need to rinse the glass 3-4 times with the rodi water before it reads zero, the first few readings are around 7-8 TDS.
