Tek reflector stain removal

I purchased a used tek about a week ago and it has some stains.... I tried using first water, then vinager, then windex and even tried Brasso metal polish on a corner but nothing worked apparently it's more of a corrosion to the metal than a stain or something I hadn't seen before on aluminum. So just wondering if anyone has any input on this? is it common to tek reflectors? has anybody found a solution that doesn't involve buying new reflectors? Maybe a special kind of polish or something.....

It is in fact corrosion. Very hard to get off, only way is if you polished it as you would a hunk of aluminum. You'll need a buffing wheel, various compounds, etc..

^...arg that's what I thought! anyhow have you tried this by any chance? or anyone? I'm afraid it might even remove the reflective finish maybe making it worse.. it doesn't seem like high grade aluminum idk...

Don't worry about it. I doubt you will get any increase in light output if you were to get it spotless.

I would get an acrylic shield for it to prevent further staining.

I guess...probably undetectable by conventional tools...lol... I'm just kind of ocd with my stuff

If you have a dremel, you can grab polishing kit and go to town on it.. I'd recommend sanding it up with 1000 grit wet sandpaper, and then I actually really like Scratch-X as a polishing compound. It burns easily but does a really good job.
