This tank went up January 2nd of 2019. This is just a slow build thread hopefully to be filled with information and pictures to keep everyone following. Let's start with the basics, the tank is a Red Sea Max Nano. The tank hold 20 gallons but with the 10-15ish pounds of rock in the tank I'd assume the actual water volume to be in the 15 gallon range. The tank comes equipped with a return pump and skimmer, both of which I have chosen to use. It also comes with the AI Prime HD light which I also am using. I have a Jebao pp-4 currently but I will be upgrading that in the future. The tank comes with a gravity feed ATO which I still am using but I may choose to upgrade that in the future as i only get 1-2 days of use out of the reservoir. I currently dose minimal amounts of ESV B-Ionic alkalinity, calcium and Magnesium with the Jebao DP-3 in between weekly water changes to keep levels stable. For ease of maintenance I chose to go bare bottom as I have with many prior set ups. Other than some snails and hermits there is one yellow goby in the tank and nothing else at the moment.

I use the provided filter sock and I run a bag of carbon. That's about it.

Salinity 35ppt
Phosphate usually ranges .05 - .10
dKH 8.7 - 9.2
Calcium 410 - 440
Magnesium 1320 - 1360
I dont typically test nitrates. pH stays in a 8.1 - 8.4 range.

Do you have a skimmer?
I use the skimmer that comes with the Red Sea tank. I probably wouldn't have gone out of my way to get a skimmer if it didn't come with one. Mine really is only used for the additional gas exchange. I added a fresh air line to the inlet to try to boost pH as well.

1 year 2 months update. Had to fight back a bit, colors faded, possibly due to lack of nutrients. Looking good again.
