The 40 gallon cube rebuild

Give it a try before going permanent. The vacuum from the pump will likely pull the majority of the air without sealing completely
That's the great part about all this, it's easy to reverse if you need to and you aren't out a ton of money.

I got ahold of a par meter I could borrow. I'm not super happy with the numbers, but they aren't bad. I do have to rethink my original plan for coral placement. I bumped the light while I had the par meter, these are before and after the bump. I could go more if I need to, I'm running 100% blue, purple, and UV, and 50% white and yellow. I know those aren't the proper names for all that but you get the picture.

These are the before.

I haven't updated in a while. Not going good at the moment, I had cynao come in hard. It seems like it just covered everything so quickly, and I didn't get ahead of it. I decided to go the chemiclean route to get ahead of it and then I need to stay on it. I have relocated some powerheads to try and get better flow in areas. Also my skimmer started acting up a couple of weeks ago. I am trying to avoid replacing it but may have to. I'm going to build a little platform for it and raise it up a little and see if that helps. I'm at the lower end of what they recommend for this skimmer.

I'm not sure what I'm battling. Maybe it's dino and not cyno. My phos is running about .02 ppm which I need to bring up. I will keep messing with it. I will get through this.
