"Acclimation boxes are an essential tool for adding new fish to an existing tank, but a tool which is often overlooked or disregarded. I was once a skeptic myself, and I have a feeling many reading this are far from convinced. After all, how could this little clear box do much of anything?"

Here's a great article by @evolved on the use of social acclimation boxes in the introduction of new fish into your system. The use of these boxes can help significantly reduce aggression from tankmates toward new additions. Click here to continue reading...

Great article Hunter!

Is there a source for white starboard? I have a Reef Gently acclimation box (the large one) and I had never thought about the source of stress from the clear bottom till reading your article but that's exactly what I've observed every time I've used my acclimation box.

I have a C. jordani and C. cf lanceolatus that will be going in to the DT in about 4-5 weeks (just finishing TTM) and I'd like to outfit my acclimation box with a white bottom before then.

I have the elite aquatics one and I like it a lot. Wish I had the white bottom though as mine is clear. [emoji53].

Thank you.
Just Googling here, but this looks like a nice cut-to-size source: http://www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/cut_to_size_plastic/king_starboard/526

Yeah, the first gen was clear. It's the second gen you see there.

I have been using them for years, has come in very handy with mixing several dwarf angels in the same tank.

In fact I usually use it for any new introduced fish -- gives everyone time to get used to each other. Plus, like to make sure they are eating within the display tank.
