Somehow I managed to convince my wonderful wife that we need a tank upgrade. Current tank is 220g 6x2x30. Wife wants a playroom for the baby, I wants a new tank. So We both compromised and now my fishy stuff is to be relocated to the basement. After 21yrs in he hobby I finally get my tank!!!

Our current basement is unfinished and we plan on finishing the basement around the tank basically.

So tank size, well biggest I could go was 8 foot x 3 foot x 26 tall basically a 400gal (window opening is 27"x42"

Tank was ordered from Miracles Aquarium and should be ready in 4ish weeks.

Sump is a custom acrylic sump I built 48"x48"x16"

So far I have only ran electrical, started the stand and some pvc sheeting more to come....

Its going to be a BOOMIE mixed reef tank. Rocks are just started, I have a lot of rocks and corals that need to placed on these current structures although they look small the largest is 32"x 20" x 16" tall

Lighting.... That's a good question I have been all over the map. What I do know is I will be re-using my current 6' xho blues on front and back. Maybe Kessil apx9 or G5s over each Boomie.

First picture is my current tank that's being broken down.

Looks nice! When I moved earlier this year we upgraded our aquarium and put it in the basement. It’s kind of nice having it there, I had it in a living room before and feel like the focus was always on TV or something else. In the basement, it can be the focus and we spend a lot of time down there.

Hopefully have some mechanical space you can tap into too, that makes everything so much easier.

Look forward to seeing updates!!

Yeah, its all open so behind the tank will be a fish/frag room with sink. So far i have ran a 20amp and 15amp circuit.

Stunning reef! Loving your fish selection and the fact that you have softies in there, adds so much personality to the overall look. Crazy long tentacles on that gold tip elegance..
