I dig that fascination favia - really cool color combo on that variety! Nice, healthy looking tank!
Thanks, I really like it too. It can sometimes be predominantly green and other times orange. I'm not sure if it depends on intensity of lighting or some other chemical/trace element thing.

Nothing great to report. Things a clicking along. I do have several patches of cyano but have done nothing to eradicate it really. I have had high nitrates for awhile so that could be contributing.
But, I picked up a Santa Monica Drop 1.4x yesterday from a friend and dropped that in last night. He left some algae growth on there so I’m hoping it doesn’t take long to kick off.

Otherwise the tank is settling in well. I’m seeing good pe on my acros and new buds on a few. So that’s encouraging. Colors overall need improvement but I’m hoping that comes in time.

Unfortunately my torches like the flow the acros require the least. They’re not receding or anything but I don’t think they’re that happy either.

So, I picked up an IM 25 lagoon yesterday from a local. Came with skimmer, reactor, media baskets and Mightyjet return pump all for $150. I shined it up today. My intention was to use it for my euphyllia but I’m undecided. Maybe I should turn it into a bare bottom high flow sps tank....

And finally some photos of some new purchases from yesterday along with a few older pics.

I like them too. Will have to keep an eye on them though so they don't become too invasive.

I have to say, I am loving this tank. I know it's not the usual mindset but I couldn't be happier with my downgrade from the 150g to the 50g. I suppose there's potential I could have found the same success with the larger tank, but the maintenance on this is so much easier.

Which version of the scrubber is that?
It's the Santa Monica Drop 1.4X. The only thing I'm not 100% of is the 'x' part. But, the only difference there is number of LEDs.

I have confirmed it is the 1.4x.
It’s good to know that it fits in a lagoon 50. I’m trying out a scrubber kinda thing right now but if it proves not to work then one of these might be the way to go. I also like the marine magic scrubber but I don’t know where I’d put it.

I have it in the 4th chamber from the left. So, it does fit in those inner ones nicely. I even still have my heater in the same chamber.

From memory..I'm running the one on the side glass on random mode with a min to max percentage of 30-65% and high variability. This is recently reduced from a max of 80%.

The second one on the back wall is on pulse with a 5 second on, I think 2 second off and also at 65% down from 80%.

I'd run them at 80% but my euphyllia aren't big fans of that much flow. The current settings are even borderline more than my torches want.

I'm tossing around the idea of moving the back Nero 5 back to the opposite side glass and getting a Nero 3 for the back wall. But, may wait for my acros to grow in more before I add a third powerhead.

Wow, that seems like a lot of flow for LPS. I only have one IM wave link in my lagoon 50 right now running at its lowest setting on pulse mode and it’s still probably too much for my Frogspawn. I think it’s 253 gph. I wish I’d bought the smaller pump. The Nero 3 seems interesting and maybe has wider but lower flow? I only have one SPS so no need to crank up the flow. Your tank is looking awesome. It’s going to be fun to watch all those sticks grow out.

Most lps are taking it pretty well, they all open up fully. The torches probably like it the least but I haven't found a good spot to put them where they're out of the 'worst' of the flow either. One opens up fully and has long tentacles, my gold torch has the shortest tentacles so probably isn't thrilled.

This was the initial motivation for purchasing an IM25 lagoon, to move my lps/euphyllia and such to that one with lower flow so I could provide the high flow for the sticks. But then I considered going the other way and making the IM 25 a bare bottom sps tank.

But, everything overall is doing so well right now I hate to upset it one way or the other. I'll probably hold tight for now and see how it goes. i'd consider those Nero 3's for the IM25 though.

Im starting to see a bit of algae growth on a couple select rocks. I did an ICP test and NO3 was 30 and PO4 .02. So a bit out of balance.

I do think I have a bit of dinos as well, probably from the low PO4. Not real sure how to raise PO4 without raising NO3 more.

But, corals are all looking great so maybe I leave well enough alone

A few pics from tonight.
