Hi, I was doing research on hippo tangs and saw that they can very easily get ich. I don’t have a quarantine tank so was wondering if there are any possible solutions. Thanks

If you really want this species of fish I highly recommend setting up a qt. Depending on size of the fish a 20 long would be suitable to use for a qt setup. If space is an issue just remember that you don't need to keep a qt setup all the time. Just plan the system to be taken down and set up easily.

Agreed ^^^ A QT is the very best solution.... QT all the fish that will be in the tank with the Hippo tang so they don't introduce parasites into the tang's system as well.

X3, it’s definitely susceptible. Today, nearly all fish will come in with parasites, we should all be using quarantines these days :)

Now I’ve been thinking maybe it’s not the right fish for me can I put a flame angel and a coral beauty in the same tank without aggression?

Possibly, introduce them simultaneously. I have a potters and flame angels together now in my DT. First 48 hours they were together the Potters bullied the Flame a bit, but now they are completely fine.

Flame angels and coral beauty are also pretty susceptible to disease— and I don’t see many angels come in without velvet these days..

The question I haven't found a solid answer to is...WHEN you QT the hippo tang, should you automatically treat for ich or observe? If it goes 4+ weeks in QT without showing any signs...consider it a success and intro to DT or...?

I always advise treating prophylactically. So treat it as if you know it already has ich, velvet, flukes. That way there is no guessing.
