Hi all. My 55gallon reef has been up for about a year and a half now. Its been through the ups and downs that everyone has read about. There is one thing that always seems to correct any problem Ive run into. Flowrate. Most recently, the power went out and one of my ebay powerheads died. I left the other two running but slacked off on getting a replacement. After about two weeks algae started growing. So, i replaced the broken one with a duplicate and I added a jebao wavemaker. After about 24 hours, everything is happy again and the algae problem has reduced back to just a dusting on the live rock. That being said, I believe water movement is the key to tank success. Just an observation.

I was thinking of adding 2 additional small hydor wavemakers to tank.. Would total 4 but im not sure if that would be too much flow.
