just wanted to throw this one out there-

i am POSITIVE that the vivid echino and the pink ******* chalice is the same exact thing. they came in separately, but ultimately the mothers are identical and the slight shift in morphology of the f2 frags are also identical. i don't have permission to use other people's pics, but i'll post links later. so how come i can buy one (vivid) for $200 for a GOOD sized frag, while the other sells for $325 + $56 shipping for a 1/2" piece? without flaming, let's talk about this. please chime in w/ your experience.

here's my $0.02:
vivid's website hosts a pic (and i think a video as well) but the colors are off, perhaps from the white balance, perhaps it's the 20k lights... but it's not that pastel color. i've seen it in person several times. it's a radiant pink w/ thick rounded nodules and big eyes growing out of them. pink all throughout, no rim... the frags, like many other wild chalices, seem to shift slightly- namely, a powder blue rim that you don't see on the mother, with occasional blue streak running through them. anyone who's been to vivid and locked on to their watermelon in the 800gal display will know. any chalice freak would have that image burned into their head for the rest of their reefing days. somebody please concur with me if you've been there and you find any of this to be credible.

pink *******, which i've also seen in person, has the exact coloration and morphology in the mother colonies- radiant pink, same lack of blue rim, eyes growing out of big rounded nodules. frags look identical to the vivid frags w/ the blue-ish growing edge and occasional blue streak.

separated at birth??? you decide.

Beautiful pieces everyone...:)

Here's one we've been coloring up for awhile now. Originally came in looking brown, but patience paid off. :D

After looking at a lot of watermelon pics I'm thinking the only thing a chalice has to have to be a watermelon is a green rim. So is what I have a watermelon? Like all my chalices I have it was brown when I got it but it looks like it's just about done coloring up.
