Ok here we go.... putting like $5000 corals on the line.

My tank 200g'ish total water volume. Mostly zoas, palys, rics and acans. Livestock is Tangs and Clowns and Urchins.

I got Aluminum in my water.

Instructions say 3ml per 25gals. I went with 10ml total for my 200ish gals.

So thats 50% of the recommendation. Not trusting full strength....

Running an airstone under a DT powerhead pushing microbubbles just incase this Detox stuff chokes O2 overnight. Who knows what this stuff will do.

Running skimmer WET.

Drain into sump has a 200micron sock catching 100% of the drain.

Dosed 10ml slowly into the high flow stream. When product hit the water it looked like a gunky copperish-brown solution before dissolving into the water column

Dosed at 9pm EST tonight

1st fish check 30mins in = no abnormal behavior. No heavy breathing. pH holding steady at 8.06

1st coral check 30mins in = all but a few zoas still open. I believe the closed ones is bc I amped up my DT flow by 2x.. Rics, Acans ok.

My early warning coral is a group of mushrooms covering a single rock. They shrink up if I look at them angrily. The shrooms may have shrank maybe 10-20%. I'm not concerned.

I'll give updates as to if this DETOX does what it says by pulling excess Aluminum out of my water

If this stuff kills everything... I'm lawyering up

Updates forthcoming.... as they happen.

2hr check-in = all inhabitants fish and coral seem ok with no adverse effect. Heading to bed, so we'll see what's happening in the morning 8hrs from now

Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray my Lord my soul to keep
If my tank dies before I wake
Find me a LAWYER before it's too late

I've used in it the past and didn't have any negative side effects. Hope it works well for you too.

It's been awhile, but I don't recall using it more than once. I've also used Panta Rhei Lith which appears identical.

Day 2 morning check = all fish and coral are in a normal state

The 200micron sock overnight has clogged and it overflowing the top, back into the sump. No problem, just the sock is exhausted and needs changed

Hopefully the full sock is coated with different heavy metals on the inside

Day 2 Afternoon check = feeling pretty confident that everything is in the clear. Still a twinge of seeing if corals react weird in the next 48hrs.

Wait - back up. How did you get aluminum in your water?
I dosed it....

Heck, idk, excrement-happens. Tank about 10yrs old, lots of tools have been used in and around it

At one point used a lot of aluminum parts to build a hood. I'm sure aluminum oxide particulates fell into the tank over time

After you dosed it, does it just run its course In the tank? Do you use carbon to remove it, use filter socks?
