Thanks Skinz, to get the acans to take the food, i wait for them to put out their feeding tentacles. Once they are out, i cut up some shrimp and place it in each mouth of the acans. The catch is keeping the flow down low and keeping other fish from stealing their food! :)

Sweet looking actinic shots...what kind of camera did you use? I have been trying to capture my tank with the blue leds only on but having a rough time.

I am using a Nikon D3100. Its still a bit tough to get a shot. Those 7 shots came from about 80+ shots. Some come out too blue, the ones that come out good are usually fuzzy. But i have been having good luck in guide mode where you just pick what type of picture you want to take and it does the rest.
Same Here!! I have a D3100 as well and have bounced around from mode to mode but i cant get a decent real life pic. I totally understand about taking a million pics and only getting a couple that work. Do you use a tripod.

Last night after i posted these pictures i went down and took about 30 more pictures and came out with about half that look pretty good. I turned the dial to Guide Mode-->Shoot-->Advanced Operation-->Bring More into focus-->F14-->More Settings-->Next-->Flash Mode-->Slow Sync + red-eye-->ISO Sensitivity-->1600. Then i make sure to have all lights off in room besides tank lights. Start taking photos with flash, and shots were coming out with what i would say is the closest ture coloration i have been able to get out of my camera so far.
I am really excited to get home and try some more shots. I don't use a tri-pod and that is my problem for shots not coming it clear, but i like to do top down shots which is impossible to use a tripod.

Nothing on the main tank to report as of now. But i did get some new frags! These may be some of the hottest zoas i have personally owned. I love how bright hot pink they are with the green mouth and dark colored skirts

Quick question for reefers with experience with this(ok not so quick):
I have only done this one other time, usually when i set up a new tank, i am transferring everything from one tank to the new tank.
This time i have a running system in my fish room 60g frag tank, and a 40g sump. When i add my display tank online, i am basically going to fill the new display tank up with fresh salt water, and turn all pumps on, and it will basically be like a huge water change. My system will go from 100g to 380g with a flip of a switch. I will have my display filled up all the way to the top so that when I turn on the return pump for my display it will begin to let the fresh water drain into the overflow and then down into the sump. The sump is shared by both my running frag system and the display tank.
Finally my question is...would you expect to see much of a cycle? The rock i am using in the display tank is about 300-400lbs. of dried LR. It is all very clean rock, which you can see in my pictures. I will be transfering my LR that i currently have in my frag tank starting 24hours after the system is online. I know its bad to move all of your rocks around and that can cause a cycle, so i plan on doing that slowly piece by piece also.

would say 100% most definitely going to see a huge algae bloom in your frag tank and also in the main tank if you do that. i would say you are better off filling the new display tank without plumbing in your frag tank. let the new main display cycle with lights off for at least a couple weeks , maybe 2 or 3. do a few water changes on it some where in the 3 weeks. get the ammonia , nitrite , ect down first. i just plumbed a small 7g acrylic frag tank into my main 90g display. i cycled the tank prior, or so i thought and i am getting this nasty gooey brown algae again. last time i got this algae which was from not cycling a small black egg crate frag rack the algae bloom got out of control and i almost sold off my tank. thankfully i stuck in there and it went away after strict water changes weekly. hope this helps.

One thing I would like to add to nater.... when you do combine the systems I would "Mix" the water slowly... unless the water temp/pH/salinity are all exactly the same.... even if they were I would probably take 4 hours of slowly mixing the water... I would turn the pump on for a few seconds to make it overflow for a few (like 30 seconds or so) and then wait for about 2 minutes... then I would do it again and continue with on/off till I felt comfortable with the tanks water being close to the same... that way you don't shock all your frags... It's the same idea as acclimation.
