Hey guys, im new to the hobby just started 4months ago and got addicted to corals pretty fast lol. I started this 20G long tank january 3rd 2021 and i know i definitley moved way too fast with setup and stocking and its been a journey learning everything, but i think im finally done stocking my tank with corals and fish. Ive been doing 5g water changes weekly and besides for some pests, algea, and sponge things are starting to really look good. Please let me know what you guys think and any suggestions you might have. Thanks

I think changing 25% of the water every week is extremely excessive.

25% is fine some people do big 60% changes. The tank looks amazing always wanted a bunch of pipefish in a shallow reef! How long have you had yours?

I hope so lol i thought it wasnt enough. I dont want to dose anything just try and keep it simple water changes only take me about 10min and i make my own rodi water. Hopefully later on ill get to a point where i dont need to do water changes so frequently.

I dose all for reef and a few other things and rarely do a water change if your afraid of dosing look into *all for reef* its extremely simple and you'll save time and money on the salt and water changes

I have tropic marin all for reef but still havent opened it lol. How much would you dose a 20g tank like this. The bottle doest really have instructions on how much per how many gallons etc..

Just under 2ml a day so even the little 250ml would last 4 months or so. I'm not saying it will replace water changes but its a great and simple additive. The other thing I really like is aquavitro fuel for the amino acids and vitamins. Good luck you have a great tank! Love that pipefish!

Dosing should be based off consumption. You can use guidelines as a starting point, but no way to really know without testing and getting an idea of how much you need to dose.
