dont say that I get a spinal epidural tomorrow
im glad I wont be able to see the 8" needle

Yeah no good. 8" brutal. I tell you though I have had lg needles for nerve blocks in my neck and back before and those were no problem. Its the area though needles in your finger sucks. Hope all goes well for you.

Way back when I sliced my thumb to the bone with a fillet knife while working at whole foods in the sea food department, I've never bled a river of blood before, it was pretty crazy! Then I had to drive myself to the clinic and get stitches. That was a crazy day! When I got there they had me put my arm down then they tied off my thumb and injected a numbing agent into my knuckle below the tourniquet, the knuckle swelled up to almost more than twice it's size! It never healed together properly so I have a little indention in my thumb, but nothing too severe, I didn't even go back to get the stitches removed, I grabbed some dikes and clipped em and pulled them out...only problem with that was they ended up being scabbed into my finger so I had to rip them out...lol slightly painful.

I hope you got yours taken cares of properly, I've had those types of cuts before, a lot when I was a little kid whittling wood trying to be my Grandpa lol I've taken almost all the skin off my my index finger doin' that haha

Wow bummer it didn't heal right. Im hoping mine does. I've done the tough guy thing before and not gone to see a Dr but that changed when I got something that I could have died from a spent a while in the hospital while they fixed me up. All cause I refused to go see a dr sooner. Now I don't take chances. Had this not have been as deep as it was I would have bandaged it up but after a few mins looking at it I knew it needed stitches, just had to convince myself. Lol

Yeah that one needed stitches, it's too deep to do anything else. Typically I would just put superglue on it, or that new skin stuff because it has antibacterial meds in it...but that stuff hurts! LOL Good thing pain is only temporary haha

first checkup today with the doc and no infection. Gave me some horse pills to take just in case. stitches are holding good but dang this thing hurts. You dont realize how much you use your thumb untill you cant use it

reading all the stories here, is everyone here accident prone?! knock on wood, i have never had a cut deep enough that required stitches.
