Looking at incorperating an ats on my system. I just DO NOT understand how these companies are justifying the prices of the commercially available ats. I know plenty out there buy them, but i personally just cant bring myself to putting out that kind of money. So I am considering building one...
I am thinking one of these totes from home depot. PVC with a slit cut and some plastic mesh canvas sheets. I figure I can get 20x10 growing area out of this comfortably. Is this sizing appropriate?
I have a 300g display with a 300g sump/frag tank. I dont feed cubes as my primary food source so that whole metric isnt really useful for me. My ehiem auto feeder does 2 rotations 8 times a day. I have been bringing my phosphate down with gfo and am at 0.26 (I still have a way to go) but dont want to run gfo long term. Nitrates are at 31, been bringing them down with biopellets and carbon dosing. Again, dont want to rely on these long term either.
