Hoping for some thoughts on my maxima. Purchased a few days ago and is about 5” long. Spent first night on sand bed after acclimation. The next day I moved up in the tank and onto a section of rock that is closer to the light and somewhat concave. Don’t know if he has attached yet as I don’t want to bother him.

seems healthy. Hasn’t tried to jump after two days so assume he is happy? He is quick to close if there is a change to light or if a fish swims over. Questions;

flow. I have an MP 40 behind him and off to the side. Just gets an occasional soft current. Barely enough to move the mantle. Does that seem about right?

mantle. In Many of the photos I see of clams they are opened pretty wide. This one doesn’t seem to open as wide. Is that an cause of concern?

clam is about 12” below surface of water with a Radion gen 5 XR 30 directly over set to 50% intensity. I Don’t have a par meter but acros are growing well at lower levels of the tank.

don’t have much experience with clams. Appreciate any thoughts.

Hey hows your clam doing?! Any updates? Prepping myself for a maxima soon and would love to hear your experience since January.
