My LFS (Nemos) has a used Red Sea S-50 Max for $3500. Has a Apex system, Octo 150-Int, Marine Works Ozone Reactor, Kessil H80 light for refugium tank and ai light above and water top off system. Also has the stand. He is wanting $3,500 cash. He also said for an additional $1,000 I can get a brand new glass top (whole tank on top). So $4500 cash out the door.

Then he said it is $875 for water, sand, dry rock
Then $750-$1000 to deliver 15 mins away and setup tank.

SO all in is $6,375. The tank is a few years old and apparently they have serviced it for the buyer.

Is this a good deal to pull trigger on today? If yes, would you spend the $1000 for the brand new glass on top from rea sea or keep the used glass that doesn't have scratches? He said the electronics ate worth that alone and the skimmer. Or should I do new and do a G2 series all in for $7,200 with I guess less expensive add ons?

I dont think that's a good price for the tank at all. Let alone the ridiculous price on the water/sand/rock/setup/delivery. Keep looking on offer up, local reefing groups, and FB marketplace and you'll do much better. For reference I bought a reefer 350 complete with ecotech pump, 2 MP40s, Skimmer, bubble magus doser, all the rock, and 2 reefled 90s for $1500. I got a reefer 170 with return pump for $225. $100 light, $175 MP10 and about $100 in rock and sand.

You can do better

Thank you for the reply! I was curious what others thought. It seemed like a good deal to me because they were pricing it out piece by piece and saying new it would be around $10,000 to try to show the value.

Those don't sound like used prices to me; getting like 20-30% off of a new setup at their prices would be a pass for me.
