Tiger conch vs Halloween Hermit

Just got a tiger conch. My Halloween hermit seems to be pretty interested in eating the conch though. Can the conch defend itself?

The conch is much bigger but the Halloween hermit keeps trying to crawl into the conches shell.

Doesn't seem like I can do much either way. Maybe I need more shells? Where can I get some?

Well I don't have a sump so there isn't much of an option for separation. I'll take the conch back in the morning if it survives.
