Tiger to return to masters....

I don't care about his life....thats exactly my problem....I cannot escape it, everywhere I look its tiger this and tiger that, if all I knew of him was his incredible golf game I would most likley be a huge fan of his, but since the media needs to shove what a great guy he is down our throat.....I hate him instead.

You watch the masters, I will be making frags....

also as a father I do care what major role models are portrayed as in the media, my daughter might end up liking golf after all.....

That's the problem, you care about his personal life. I only care about his game not what tabloids, news stations, other media venues say, or what he does on his personal time. He makes golf interesting. Go watch more TMZ and I will watch him play golf at the Masters

You know its funny....everyone has such strong opinions about this but the truth is everyone has faults....you might as well stop watching the NFL, NBA, NHL, **** you might as well hate our government and the crooked politiacians....its everywhere...as a player i am happy that he is coming back as a person he has faults and he is human....at least he isn't ray lewis getting off from MURDER! come on people!

We don't give our kids enough credit. They listen to everything we say and do. I was talking to my 14 y/o the other day about athletes and their public vs private lives. he brought up Tiger and said, "It would be a rush to play a round a golf with him and get pointers but there is no way in heck I would want to BS or hangout with him."

exactly!!!

Just worry about your own life and do good...teach your kids right and wrong and how glorified media works....we can obviously separate the 2.

PS good for your kid paul!!

....

Hate the media for that, not Tiger.

And as far as athletes as role models, that needs to be re-evaluated. Impart your own values on your children as they are growing up . . . they won't need or look for any other "role model".

Its seems more like a personal matter to me, what he does off the golf course is his business. During these times he was not in the public eye. Yes, it was wrong and shows bad character but does it change the Tiger that all of us know, an unbelievable golfer? No. All it done was give a view of his personal live that we really should not know that much about. The word personal sums it up.
As for receiving all of this media attention I completely disagree with. There are MUCH more important things to focus on other than Tigers personal life and what he done off the course. I have seen more media about Tiger than I have about the Heath Care Bill which will effect most of us one way or the other....

Amen!

Our problem is summed up by one word. Gossip! True or not it is all gossip. We should worry about our own imperfections and failures. Also I hope Tiger rebounds, puts this all in the past, and rebuilds his future with his family and God. I am all for everyone getting a second chance to make it right.

I am glad to see him come back.

Exactly my point Gary, why is it news worthy?? I get sucked into an opinion just by hearing about it, it isn't any of my, or anybody else's business but when you hear all about peoples poor decision making and bad behavior on the news, (instead of real news) its hard not to be judgmental-one way or the other.

~IMHO~
If you think you will the sole influence over your children you are mistaken.
Media is ALMOST more relevant in our childrens lives than their parents, especially if you try to shelter them and control their access to it.

I agree though that it is not news worthy, well the personal part. It is sports news worthy that he is playing in the Masters, but not world news. LOL!

Every one of us is in a position of responsibility in some context. Most of us make the wrong choice, by accident, because of lacking self-control, or even not having enough information, it's human nature...

For the 99.999% of the rest of the world's population, Camera's are just not turned towards us when we do.

Not that it's any of our business... but, this is one of the things that make Forgiveness a uniquely human quality quality.

The story is his personal situation to deal with, although mass media has an influence, WE should be the models for our kids... Not teachers, Not sports figures, Not cartoons...

I just want to watch some good golf.

I'm interested for sure....i dont really care for watching golf but he makes it exciting...i am planning on watching and i am sure millions will too...whether you like it or not...it is a news story. If Michael Jordan would have done the same thing...it would have been huge too...

MJ did, but after he was retired.

I blame the media and the publics thirst for gossip. Look how long the Brittany Spears crap was on the news. How long Ana Nicole Smith was in the news after her death. ****, they are still talking about that one and she has been dead 2 years now......

Every single one of us has faults, period. Best we can do is make informed decisions and try to follow the golden rule. If we can do that, then our children will hopefully follow in our foosteps. Remember, traits are learned, not inherited!

BTW, I will be watching the Masters, I hope he wins by 10 strokes!!!
