Time to build a 120g

Got the GFI in today.

Found these lights at Sam's. Put one on each side. They are battery powered. I have had issues with battery powered lights corroding before. Maybe these will not. Plan on making the big move from the 75 to 120 this week.

My anemone split right after we moved everything. I drilled holes in it and put him and the rock he is on in the container. Last time he split, I damaged the foot on him trying to pry him from a large rock. Taking him to the LFS tomorrow.

Just a thought about the stand, You mentioned the stand being able to support 1400lbs.... Just the tank alone being a 120g, water weighs ~10lbs/G = 1200lbs and the LiveRock, you should have a minimum of 120lbs (i would recomend 180lbs) Plus the canopy, Lights, Sump weight, Skimmers and accessories FISH ETC.... your looking somewheres closer to 1550-1650lbs, wich is according to your estimation a bit over capacity. The last thing we want to see is a crashing tank due to structural integtrity.

Dont get me wrong that stand is second to none. It looks AWESOME and kudos to the cabinetmaker :P I love the magnet removable sides, You can tell this was not his first tank stand. But in my opinion, it doesnt look sturdy enough (as pointed out by others). OH, And a second note, The fact that the stand is directly on the wood floor, you will most likely get divots or dimples from the weight of the tank pushing down on the hardwood digging the feet into the hardwood floor. :P

Started taking some pics now that everything in the tank has settled down.
Added some support underneath the bottom of the stand to help support the sump. I have taken measurements of all the dimensions of the stand in an effort to double the structural integrity. All of the measurements are good so far with no movement. I had the cabinet maker stop by and look at the stand to double check everything. He is confident about the stand supporting the weight.

Looks great.....it came together very well.

And since you asked ,xenia can over run a tank fast and leathers have a very strong chemical arsenal to inhibit growth of other corals.
I personally dont have or want them in mine. [luv my zoas more] But the do look nice in other peoples tanks.

Thanks! I took the xenia and leather out because of exactly the point you made. There are so many coral out there you really have to do lots of research. That is why I love this site for information from fellow reefers.
