Tiny gap in stand, your thoughts?

Its one of the metal Brooklyn stands from Petco. Very tiny gap. If I put a sheet of that foam board from home depot would it self level? Its pretty flush on the other side.

I would use between 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch piece of plywood.
