As the tile says, the other night I noticed dozens of tiny snails I’ve not seen before. Many of them were on or around my zoas.
Coincidentally, some of my zoas have been vanishing but I was really leaning on that being caused by a few parameter glitches I’ve had recently, the main one being nitrates that hit zero while phosphates hung close to 0.1. Several corals unhappy.
I tried to pull the snails I could. Some clearly seem to be stomatellas or something totally unlike sundials. They are very tiny so good pics were very difficult as well as getting them without crushing them.
Looking into the tank all I saw was black and white checkering. Upon a closer look they don’t really look like pics of sundials I’ve seen.
Of note, I have not added any new frags in many months and have never seen any larger snails that look like sundials. I have astrea, nassarius, nerite, bumble bee, and at least one for sure large stomatella that started as a teeny hitchhiker.
