I love acans but never have good luck with them.. They never hold there color for me. Im on my second or 3rd attempt at keeping some. The one's I have now don't puff up and went from a really nice oragne with cool strips to just a bland redish color.. Who knows some tricks that I should try. I do hand feed them and they eat... But nothing going on apperance wise.

Thanks! I might have them in to much flow. I may even move them to my smaller tank that has much lower flow and not as clean water. Any other tips would be great! : )

Lower light (darn near dark for those of us running LEDS :)) I've had great luck with the Fauna Marin LPS pellets.

I got some red ones from a local reefer and I put them under the ledge and they turned a nice bright orange with yellow/white stripes. :) pretty cool looking from the solid red they were

I have many acan colonies and I agree with most of the other members.I have found that the lower the light the rainbows hold their color instead of turning mostly red or orange.Even in some instances additional colors form.I have also found that towards the lower end of flow the acans inflate and open much more.Though they can be kept in high light and high flow but with less desireable results.

They turn orange for me under LEDs, not what I paid for. As CSQ said, darn near under a rock.

One exception is the Mai Tai acan, mine turned poop colored under a ledge. I now have it getting blasted by a 250w MH and it's getting color back
