Hey Reefers,

The tips on some of my Acropora have algae.

Two weeks ago I had a 1.5dkH alk spike which is not common in my tank. Also, my ph did a roller coaster from 8.3 peak to 8.6 peak. Underlying issue was an overdose of Kalkwasser. I was replenishing evaporation with the Kalkwasser slurry in my top off. Issue is now corrected and stability achieved for again for the past two weeks.

Is this what burnt tips on Acropora commonly look like?

FYI: ICP testing confirms no heavy metals, nutrients balanced. Some silicates were detected in my RO/DI

Alk: 8.3
Calcium: 445
Phosphates: 0.07
Nitrates: 28ppm (typical for my system)
