Scraping is the only effective method of control.

Let it grow on the back wall. The rear walls will form nice purple patches and the tank will look established instead of sterile

Keep the sides and front clean with a gold magnetic scraper. I use a flipper and it does a good job at chipping it away when you need to

The key is to keep up with it from the beginning...which requires a lot of scaping unfortunately. I hate the look of it and keep everything scraped except the rock.

I just let it grow on the back of my tank!
