I was fortunate to be given a 265 gallon aquarium a little while back and was planning on making it my project for this summer to get it up and running. So before I even wanted to get started buying materials to build a stand & canopy I wanted to leak test it. Last week I filled it with water and this morning it is about 8 inches lower (roughly 70 gallons).

So I am thinking of redoing the silicone rather than scrapping the tank.

What are the best tip/tricks you all have for replacing silicone?

Thanks in advance.

I recently resealed a 40 breeder and my best piece of advice would be take your time. Make sure all the old silicone is gone before applying the new. And use masking tape to create straight clean lines when you apply the new silicone :)
