Just a quick opinion question. I have a 135 gallon reef tank with 4 fish currently in it. They are pretty much the survivors of a velvet outbreak I had maybe 8 months ago. This was when I didn’t quarantine at all. I did a fallow period and treated them so I shouldn’t have velvet in the tank anymore. Anyways I got 3 new fish recently. 2 purple fire fish and a melenarus wrasse. Right now their in their second round of prazi pro and seem to be doing great. So my question is should I do a copper treatment. I do trust the store I get the fish from but I also don’t know if it’s worth the risk to not treat with copper. Will the wrasse be ok with it? How long should I treat for?

IMO the whole point of QT is to get rid of Ich and Velvet so I would copper just to make sure. 1 week of copper will kill most Ich and Velvet but a true QT should be for 30 days to insure that no Ich emerges.

I have treated wrasses with copper many times and never had a problem.

You’ve gone through all this fallow and heartache. Quarantine the new fish properly
