This big spot started out small about a week ago and has now grown. The coral is clearly not happy..

Water parameters have all stayed consistent (Alk 8.9, Mag 1360, Cal 445), Nitrates are ~19, po4 ~0.7..

Thoughts?

po4 0.7, or 0.07? 0.7 may be too high. maybe 0.1 or 0.2 would be okay given your no4 reading.

could be a stuck "shed" that developed into a bacterial infection? have you tried iodine?

OK - will run some light GFO to bring it down slowly..

I have not used iodine before, any tips on how to use it?

Is it a new tank? I think toadstools like an established tank with a bit of dirt in the water.
The tank is about 7 months old now. I have had this coral for about 5 months and it was doing great.. I am stumped and sad

Hard part for this coral is it looks too small to frag the top into multiple pieces. I would consider cutting the entire top off down to healthy tissue and hope it recovers usually 3-4 weeks.
