Too much flow in this tank?

This is a Red Sea Max Nano Peninsula 26 gallon, just over 2 months old. I have a Hygger HG042 wave maker, set to lowest flow, longest interval between wave pulses. Also has a VCA random flow generator pointed toward the opposite corner of the tank.

To me, it looks like the Duncan in getting blasted with too much, and it's in one of the quietest areas of the tank. Should I get a less powerful wave maker?

could you try putting it on one of the sides, and see if that helps some? Duncans like flow, but not "blasted" if that makes sense

Research what flow is recommended per coral type

For instance...some zoas like high flow where others get irritated and melt away quickly.

Really guessing game most times. It it seems irritated, change it

I agree. I'd back off on the direct flow. Corals like a flow that is more of a back and forth, indirect if you will. Every coral likes it differently, but in this case, I'd create a little more chaos around it.

Thanks for the replies!I guess I should have rephrased the question as; Is this wave maker too powerful for this tank? (because it's set as low as it'll go)

I think it is and I'll move it too my big tank, which could use another wave maker, and get a smaller one for this tank..

Ohhhh! Well, what's your total flow at? Are you planning on keeping primarily Softies, LPS or SPS? Or all three? The surface agitation looked great. So are you running 20x, 30x, 50x?

Planning on Softies and LPS. I did like the surface agitation, but I had that wavemaker turned down to the lowest setting, and it was just too powerful. That duncan is in the calmest part of the tank. It's rated at 21000 gph. Running the stock pump with an RFG. I have not figured out the turnover rate.

I just ordered a smaller hygger 1321 gph with "Adjustable Cross Flow Technology!" (Sounds very fancy LOL!) I'll see if that is a little more appropriate for this tank.
