I have an ATO 3152, and it works great. I purchased it back in November or December of 2019. Over the last month, the pump has become really loud when it runs. It still moved water and functions properly, but it is excessively loud. I have had to add foam insulation to the inside of my stand to try and cut down on the noise, and it still isn't enough.

Is there something I can do to make this better? Is this a common problem?

They can get loud for various reasons, but the most common is that the pump is against a hard surface, if this is in an acrylic or glass tank and touching the bottom or side, they can get quite loud, a soft container like a bucket and in all cases suspended by the cord will be the quietest install. Is it possibly touching the tank it is in?

I am sure it is touching the side or bottom of the tank it is in. The tank is a hard acrylic tub

Try hanging it by the cable, on our reservoir their are two 1/4" holes drilled at the top lip and the hose and cable suspend it, this greatly reduces the noise, they otherwise make a lot of reverberation and it is much worse on a hard plastic or glass tank, it is tolerable on a bucket or something that is a little more flexible.
