Torch coral help.

So the past couple of month I've had problems keeping my Cal alk and mg stable so my torch tissue around the skeleton has receded. It still opens up almost all the way I'm just worried that it's going to die. If I keep my parameters stable and target feed with mysis and coral frenzy will it regrow the tissue. Please help

I'm new to owning a torch coral, however I spent the better part of the past 2 years researching the little guys, I'm a slow mover because nothing good happens fast in a reef tank as they say...

Anyway, as far as the torch goes, as long as you regain control of your parameters she should bounce back...slowly of course. How often do you do water changes and what percent? You might try upping the percentage and frequency to get your parameters back in check...this has been my golden rule when things get whacky. Also have you changed the flow or lighting since the parameter issue? Too many changes too fast can cause problems too.

Gotta get those parameters in check!I would recommend dosing Ions for MG and Calcification for Ca.They do very well for me and my torches thrive!As stated above;it will bounce back when things return to normal!

I have not changed anything. I went a little more than a month without a water change and that's when he began to look bad. I did a 25 percent last week because of po4 and nitrates were high. I am now going back to weekly water changes since everything looked better when I was doing so

Good and steady maintenance routine in our tanks is key. If you are having issues with Ca, Mg, and Alk being stable - I'm assuming you have lots of coral? Either way, look into a 2-part doser to help keep those elements stabilized. The math is fairly simple once you figure out what you are using daily . The BRS calculators helped me figure out my usage per day.

I actually have lost a good amount of coral. Right now I'm getting everything where I want it to be with two part then I'm going to be using kalk.
