So I wanted to get some input from some more experienced reefers. I’m currently battling Dino’s at the moment so I’m on hyper alert.
My torch suddenly retracted into its body today and I noticed some dark strings coming out of it. Doesn’t look like brown jelly, I had that kill one of my Duncan heads a while back. Normally I would wait a day or so to make sure it’s actually an issue, but like I said I’m on alert and paranoid at the moment. so I took it out and gave it a dip in Tropic Marin iodine dip just to try and do my due diligence. And now there is white stringy stuff coming out of it. Ive never seen anything like this from my torch or hammer before. If it was from my anemone I would think it’s no big deal and that it was just pooping or something. (My anemone is a bit schizophrenic at times)

Let me know if I’m just being paranoid or is there something I can do to help it out. Is it possible to over dose on the iodine? I followed the dosing instructions on the package.

Ten minutes dip in iodine made from tank water
Tank parameters
Temp -78
PH 8.2
Ammonia- 0
Nitrites -0
Nitrates - 5
DKH -6.4 (I know it’s a little low I’m working on raising it slowly)
Cal - 400
Mag - 1160
Par - 80

I’m weekly dosing vibrant
I dosed cheto grow 2 days ago since the vibrant has degraded my cheto a bit

any thoughts are greatly appreciated

The dip can irritate it and it takes time to adjust after.
