Hello all,
I recently bought a torch coral, it was doing well fully open and extended for a few days. I removed some excess live rock yesterday since it was shading out too much usable tank space, and it still extended this morning nice and healthy. Mid day today it randomly closed up super tight, and expelled a little bit of brown stuff. Still staying closed.
40 gallon Im nuvo fusion pro,
Mag 1300
Nitrates <5ppm
Phosphates were a little high yesterday, so I out in a small amount of reactor (half of reccomended dose) and some activated carbon.
Calcium 400
Alk between 8.8 to 9.3, hard to read the color of titration sometimes
Flow was definitely not too strong, hammers seem fine, though not as plump as usual, maybe too much light.
Duncans are absolutely thriving.
Any advice on saving this expensive lovely coral?
Attached pics of the torch, hammers (to show what I mean but open but not as plump), and duncans
