Hey everyone,

I’ve had this torch on the top for a few months, seems healthy and happy and noticed a new head forming. The past few days it hasn’t been extending much and the tentacles seems super short. Any ideas? I did have to remove my rock work to get a fish out which was about a week ago. I’m assuming maybe it could just be ticked off.

All my parameters seem normal and can post them later today if needed.

The first photo is how it looks today, the second is from a few months ago.

Cheers

In the second image I don't see the green torch? Did you move the torches close to each other?

Torches can send out swipper tentacles that sting other corals, sometimes even other Euphyllia.

Yeah that’s the one thing I forgot to ask at the Lfs but it seems like they are okay based on Google and I’ve kept an eye out. It honestly looks like it may just be splitting new heads?

New pics are a little fuzzy.

I have several torches, they go through stages that look like this, but usually bounce out of it in a few hours.

Any new additions to the tank recently?

Sorry about that haha I can add a few more if needed. I added a second torch and a yellow clown gobby recently.

Maybe it’s just new growth? It only had the two heads in the one photo, now it has 4. Maybe it’s just splitting then will be a bit more normal?

For me, if its been a couple days I'd get worried. Maybe inspect for flatworms, or remove and dip.

They just don't seem to stay "sad" for more than a few hours.... That's my normal anyway.

I wouldn’t say it’s sad, but I am still a beginner.

This is a photo when I spot fed it about 30 minutes ago. The tentacles seem super small around what to me looks like new heads. I’m assuming it’s just splitting but could be wrong.

The second photo was taken a few minutes ago.
