I recently picked up a torch and by mid day it is retracted. The Image times are 10am > 12pm > 3pm. As you can see by 3pm the torch is almost fully retracted. My guess is it's too much light. I plan on renting a par meter next week when I have time to drive the 2 hours to pick it up. My hammer and frogspawn are doing great. I have added a video of the flow. I think the flow is ok. It's not overly aggressive. Any ideas on what it could be?

- Salinity 1.025
- Nitrates 11.7
- Alk 7.9
- Phosphate test kit ordered and showing up this week
- Waterbox Cube 20, torch is about 12" under water.

I have a few torches myself and had this same problem but with a toadstool. I just moved it to a less light, less flow spot and it all worked out. Could also be adjusting to your tank. Every time I get new torches they seem to always never come out fully until the next couple of days. Nothing to worry about imo

This is about as low light as I can get at the moment. It's in the corner of the tank at the moment. I did drop my lights down to see if it will help. I have an XR15 Gen 5 running with a diffuser at the BRS recommended settings at 70% and running it for 8 hours. It might be too much for the tank.

I have a Sbreeflights S box 32” pro (freshwater) light and my blues are at 80 whites at 10% or the minimum I can go. not too sure why I bought the freshwater version but it works lol

I had them at 70%, but bumped them down after seeing what the torch looked like today. It started to look more like the middle photo after the change.

Fancy light lol! But yes that should be good. Bump down again if it’s not getting better but don’t go too far down, take other coral into consideration as well
